Reticulated Hillstream Loaches are one of the most fascinating fish we have ever gotten in here at Flip Aquatics. Their unique body shape is absolutely stunning. They originate from fast moving streams therefore they prefer good water flow. We house ours using a matten filter to create flow. This creates good oxygen content and good flow although a power head would help too.
These fish would go great with Bamboo Fan Shrimp as they both prefer water movement and originate from streams. Trying to recreate a stream with river stone will help these fish thrive.
The scientific name for the Reticulated Hillstream Loach is Pseudogastromyzon myersi or Sewellia lineolata although other species may get mixed in.
We feed our Hillstream Loaches a mix Northfin Veggie, Community and Fry Starter. Their preferred food is Northfin Kelp Wafers and natural algae or biofilm. They are not picky eaters and will accept foods that are small enough.

Flips is super generous with their fish. You can expect nothing but the best, and they usually send at least one extra with larger orders.
3 arrived safe and healthy one was very tiny - after 14 days all 3 are adjusting just fine in my 65 gallon tank - the tiny one is doing great. This was my second order from Flip and all are thriving - flip aquatics is awesome will not be my last
The Hillstream loaches arrived in perfect shape and acclimated without any issues. What they lack in size they more than make up for in coloration, health, and spunkiness. They are great!
I love them! I’ve never had these before. I placed them in a cycled planted 15 gallon tank. The only other occupants of the tank are some Amano shrimp, which seem to like the loaches because the shrimp were usually hiding prior to the arrival of the loaches, whereas they’re usually out and about now. I love watching these babies, they’re adorable! :)
Arrived on time, healthy active. Not my first purchase.., won't be my last.
