Kuhli Loach

Product Description

Kuhli Loach

The Kuhli Loach, also known as Pangio Kuhlii by its scientific name, is a fantastic freshwater fish for those looking for a peaceful addition to their aquarium. These little buddies are natural scavengers, eating up all sorts of things to keep your aquarium clean, and with an average lifespan of 10 years, you'll be enjoying their company for a very long time.

For whom is the Kuhli Loach suited?

These small fish may seem like an attractive addition to any aquarium due to their size and natural tendency to clean up the waste floating around in your aquarium without creating much themselves, but taking care of them is more complicated than you might expect. These fish have no scales and are somewhat prone to disease, and so we recommend that you have some experience in caring for scale-less fish if you're planning on getting them.

What are they like?

The Kuhli Loach is a real night owl. They are active mainly at night and can peacefully co-exist with most other fish. During the night, they will look for food that sunk to the bottom of the aquarium. On top of that, their natural curiosity will drive them to explore any crevices and caves that might be around in their habitat.

The ideal conditions for the Kuhli Loach

Despite the fact that these fish are scavengers, they still require a relatively clean, well-oxygenated tank. They highly prefer a soft substrate, as it makes searching for food more manageable, so sand or fine gravel would be best. The water should be soft, slightly acidic and at a temperature of 73 – 86 °F, as these are tropical fish. Further, you should make sure that there is moderate lighting in their habitat.

    Awesome experience

So far, I’ve had an amazing experience with flip aquatics. I just received my loaches today, they seem to be in great health! This is my second time ordering but first time ordering fish. I like the way they were packaged and I actually received them sooner than I thought! I’m already awaiting my third order!

    Scam Site!!!

The site is plastered with 100% Guaranteed Live Arrival images leading most customers to believe that they keep their word.

I ordered 2 fish via Priority Mail 2 Day Shipping on December 18th, they arrived DEAD ON ARRIVAL January 5th. 18 Days after my order date.

I emailed customer service and was then blamed for not paying $30 for overnight shipping. Again and again I was told that it was my fault and notified after the fact that those 100% Guaranteed images only apply to animals sent via overnight shipping.

This must happen all the time and the keep your money and do not give refunds!

Take your business elsewhere! They are making a fortune sending you dead fish and charging ridiculous amounts of money for individual shrimp. Support your local aquarium shop.

    Hi Jeremy!

We are so sorry your fish arrived DOA. We do our absolute best to ship healthy animals in the safest way possible. We use styrofoam boxes, individually wrap each box with foam, and include heat packs when needed. To ensure the safety of the fish we only guarantee their live arrival through Overnight 1-day shipping. You placed your order on the 18th of December. At this time we had a huge banner on the website that stated that we were holding all orders until January 4th due to the post office having issues with lost, delayed, and late packages. Your order shipped on the 4th with the USPS Priority mail you chose and arrived to you on the 7th. As we stated in our emails, our fish are only guaranteed with overnight shipping. We emailed you an image of the Kuhli Loach product page on our website where is says in bold italics that fish are only guaranteed through overnight 1-day shipping and all other methods of shipping void our live arrival guarantee. We also showed you our Live Arrival Guarantee policy under 'Info' on our website. All other livestock (shrimp, snails, plants, and crabs) are 100% guaranteed with Priority and Overnight mail. With all that being said, we still offered to ship you new fish if you would pay for the appropriate shipping method. In your second email to us you called us the 'C' word and told us to 'F*** off.' After all this we still wanted to help you with your fish and make sure you were satisfied with your purchase with us. After you cussed at us through email more we simply asked if we could talk on the phone to come to a resolution and you refused. We still would like to help you resolve this issue and would be more than happy to speak over the phone as we stated in our last email. Please call us at (330) 469-6345 and we will do our best to help you.

    Awesome Healthy Loaches

I ordered 4 of these loaches and they sent me 5 in case one didn’t make it. All 5 loaches arrived alive and in very healthy condition.

    What a joke.

Fish were dead on arrival. Had no response for a week. When they finally responded and offer to send a replacement (only after I left a review about how they would not reply) they sent my replacement to the wrong address. What a joke lol.

    Hi Max!

We are so sorry we missed your email. With the holiday shipping and being closed for New Years last week we got a little backed up. We emailed you in regards to your Cherry Barb DOA and shipping you a new fish. We hope your Loach is doing well and your new Cherry Barb arrives to you safely. Again, we are so sorry it took us a few days to get back to you. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at store@flipaquatics.com or in our email thread on the shipping email.
