The green fire tetra is one of our favorite fish in the shop, showing greenish-grey coloration with a little red coloration near the tail. It closely resembles fish like Neon tetras and cardinal tetras with a much greener coloration. These fish will generally ship at a size of around an inch and can reach a max size of around 2 inches.
The green fire tetra we sell can be quick to food while feeding, tank mates should be picked with care, they could potentially cause harm to dwarf shrimp so larger tank mates are recommended. The green fire tetra are collected from South America and do well in neutral parameter tanks.
The Scientific name for the Green Fire Tetra is Aphyocharax rathbuni
We feed our Green Fire Tetras a large variety of foods and it is accepting of almost any food. We feed our tetras frozen foods (daphnia and baby brine shrimp), Northfin flake foods, Northfin pellets, and live baby brine shrimp.
