The gold neon tetra is a unique variation of the neon tetra developed via selective breeding. Its unique gold/opal color has great contrast against green and red plants found in most planted aquariums. These tetras are best kept in groups of 5 or more allowing them to school together making them a great highlight to your aquarium.
This fish originally comes from streams in South America, In order to create a natural feel for this fish, you should include rock work, plants, and driftwood to make them more comfortable.
The scientific name for the Gold neon tetra is: Paracheirodon innesi
We feed our gold neon tetras a mix of frozen foods including daphnia, baby brine, cyclops, and Bloodworms.

Everything perfect. All are healthy and active.
I got these guys almost a year ago and they are still so healthy and colorful. Go great in a darker tank. Thanks Flip!
No idea you could order live fish in the mail!?! Ordered these with the shrimp starter pack to have a little more something going on in my over winter plant tank. Ordered 5 got 1 extra as insurance and all six are still happy and swimming around a week on. They were so well packed and the acclimatization information included was so helpful!
All of the tetras arrived alive and well. They’ve adjusted to their new home without any issue.
Arrived alive and healthy, beautiful addition to my tank! Flip Aquatics is the best!
