Forktail Blue-Eye Rainbowfish | Pseudomugil Furcatus

I have been a fan of Flip Aquatics for some time, but usually shop at my local fish store. Until the time came that I wanted some special fish not commonly available. The Forktail Blue-Eye Rainbowfish were on my short list. To be sure, a couple other places online carried them and some a little cheaper, but I trusted Flip Aquatics the most when it came to their quarantining process which gave me greater confidence that I would receive healthy fish.

Also their customer service is top notch! Typically, being able to specify sex is not possible. I understood this and just left a note if they could do the best they could to give me a good ratio. Mega thanks to Lauren for coming thru! I ordered 18 and she got me 9 males and 9 females! Too Cool!

I have had these guys in my quarantine tank for just over a week so far. All still healthy with no losses. They are super active darting around the tank with their piercing blue eyes. They are eating well and devour most everything I feed them, though they are young and small so the food size needs to be kept in mind. A few more weeks and they will be moved to my main tanks.

Fun, colorful, peaceful little fish! They mainly stick to the top of the aquarium! Sometimes I see them swimming with Chili Rasboras and Merah Rasboras or the Blue Danios or even the White Clouds, which I have purchased from Flip Aquatics as well!!

This is my first time keeping the fork tail blue eyed rainbowfish but I've been wanting to try them out for a while. Even when they were still in the bag I noticed that they were very active. While acclimating them to my water I saw them rising to the serface as if to great me, so I dropped in a tiny bit of food. They ate it, still in the bucket! They are so friendly! Whenever I go to the tank they rush out waving there little pom-pom fins as if saying "Hi! What are you up to? How are you doing?" I've never seen such tiny fish be so friendly! I'm in love!

Received healthy and small. They are thriving and stunning! Such lovely coloration even now despite being small still. Looking forward to watching them all grow and their stunning color maturing! Beautiful!!
