Dwarf Orange Mexican Crayfish, or Cambarellus patzcuarensis 'orange' (CPO), are native to rivers and streams in Mexico. These small crayfish grow to about 2.5 inches and thrive in tanks of at least 5 gallons. They can be a bit aggressive, so it's best to give them a well-decorated tank with plenty of hiding spots and space to establish their territories. We feed our crayfish a mix of artemia pellets, frozen bloodworms, and other protein-rich foods. They also enjoy soft algae pellets or wafers.

Mine arrived healthy and happy and on time. It's been a week or so and he's still doing well! Apparently quite healthy, no missing or broken limbs except a slightly nipped antenna, but that's very normal and will grow back in full with the next molt. Mine arrived about 3/4 of an inch so VERY TINY. Be prepared for that. I wasn't expecting the crayfish to be shipped in a tiny little bag, so don't be surprised if you just get one and the package feels a bit light on arrival. I also very much enjoyed the Swedish Fish.
