Meet the Congo Tetra, scientifically known as Phenacogrammus interruptus—a dazzling fish native to the Congo River Basin. It's recommended to keep Congo Tetras in groups of at least six. This helps mimic their natural social behavior and creates a harmonious environment in your aquarium. Keeping them in a group enhances their well-being and allows you to observe their fascinating interactions.
What we feed our Tetras
We feed our fish a mix of frozen, live and prepared foods including live baby brine and black worms. We also supplement their diet with a mix of Northfin Veggie, Community and Bug Pro.
Our Tank Parameters
Ordered 6 congo tetras, all arrived happy and healthy with a bonus Congo included. Immediately started exporting the tank and swimming around confidently. Once I found flip aquatics I don’t get my fish from anywhere else!

The Congo Tetra arrived healthy and beautiful with the exception of one of the extras you sent - a female. The others, a great split of male and female, are all thriving and looking awesome. The males are now the most beautiful freshwater fish I’ve owned. At feeding time they flash beautiful coloring and they are still very young. Absolutely stunning display! Great job and thank you for the split of make-female!
