The Veiltail Cherry Barb is a smaller-sized barb ideal for tanks 20 gallons and up. The male version of the barb has a striking red color and even the females show some red color instead of no color that is common in other species. We recommend keeping them in tanks with hiding places and places for them to feel secure. Cherry barbs with longfins should be kept with fish of the same mild temperament to ensure they do not hide. They should not be housed with fish that are known as fin nippers such as Tiger Barb, skirt tetras, loaches, etc.
Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with FedEx Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.
The Veiltail Cherry Barb will reach a max size of about 2.5 inches. They should be kept in groups of at least 5 but more is recommended.
The scientific name of the Cherry Barb is Puntius titteya.
We feed our Veiltail Cherry Barbs a mix Northfin Foods (community, veggie and bug pro) as well as live baby brine and black worms.
