The Bristlenose Pleco is a favorite in the aquarium hobby. Also known as a Bushynose catfish for the appendages that sprout from their snout once they reach maturity. These fish are covered in boney plates and their mouths are on the bottom of their bodies which makes them excellent algae eaters! These fish are locally bred and are not imports. They are usually about 2 inches when shipped. They reach a max size of around 5 inches.
The Bristlenose Pleco that we sell make an awesome addition to any community tank. They are very docile fish that get along well with almost anything that you put in your tank. They also make for a nice cleaner fish as they love eating algae and combing thru substrate, picking it clean of any debris or food residue left behind by other fish. These fish are very hardy.
The scientific name for the Bristlenose Pleco is Ancistrus Cirrhosus.
We feed our Bristlnose Plecos a large variety of foods icluding finely ground Northfin flake foods, small Northfin pellets (veggie, community and bug pro), frozen foods, live baby brine shrimp and occasionally blackworms.
Our Tank Parameters
Beautiful little Pleco. After acclimating to water temp, he hid for a bit. But within a few hours, he was out, cleaning up that algae!
You guys are some of the best quality around!
I've ordered from flip aquatics many times and am never disappointed. Top quality every time and I always receive more than ordered. This last order was no different. 2 bristlenose catfish, 18 danios, 4 mystery snails all arrived alive and are now doing great in there new home.
I absolutely love the plecos I ordered, they are so cute and thriving in my tank.
