Blue Velvet shrimp are light blue neocaridina shrimp that were actually created from Red Rili Neocaridina. These shrimp offer another beautiful blue variation to any Neocaridina tank. One of the coolest things about them is that when they’re berried, they carry bright green eggs, which really stand out against their blue color! Blue Velvet Shrimp thrive in general Neocaridina parameters with a pH above 7. Any inert substrate will work in their tank. Providing natural cover and surface area for biofilm to grow with wood, leaves, and cones will benefit these shrimp and their offspring. Mosses and other live plants should be included in their tank setup. They will eat any shrimp-specific manufactured foods, biofilm, and algae.

Loving these little cuties so much!

I ordered five shrimp and received one extra as a bonus. They all arrived healthy and acclimated easily to my aquarium. As a first-time shrimp keeper, I was nervous something would go wrong. But I’m thrilled to say that all six shrimp are happy and thriving, they graze all day throughout my aquascape and socialize with each other. Several of them have already molted successfully and I’m hoping they will start breeding soon. They were packaged well and shipped with care. Thanks so much for the great experience! Best in the business

As an LFS, we are accustomed to a certain percentage of loss. I get better survival rates having Flip ship my orders to CA, from Ohio, than I can from anyone local with a much shorter transit time. When Flip Aquatics says they are setting the standard, they truly mean it. These days, if we can't get our shrimp from Flip Aquatics, we just wait!

A perfect experience

I have been working to set up my shrimp tank for quite some time. When everything worked out and shrimp were available I placed my order. I ordered a breeder pack. The shrimp arrived in great condition, I had at least one berried female, they acclaimed well, and a month later they are still well. I have two mothers who I expect will hatch their babies soon. I am not sure if I have had any born yet or not as my tank is heavily planted but the shrimp are healthy. I can hardly wait until next year when I hope to be ready for another type of shrimp. Working with Flip Aquatics was an exceptional experience.
