The Bloodfin Tetra is a beautiful nano fish with hints of reddish orange color on its fins. They come from Paraná River basin in South America. This fish is a schooling fish and spends most its time in middle to top water in the aquarium. They are sociable and do well in community aquariums. We recommend keeping them with plants to provide them with natural hiding places.
Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with FedEx Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.
The Bloodfin Tetra can reach sizes of about 2 inches. They are pretty peaceful. Although, we would not recommend keeping them with shrimp. They prefer small live foods so baby shrimp would become an easy target.
The scientific name for the Bloodfin Tetra is Aphyocharax anisitsi.
We feed our Bloodfin Tetras a mix of frozen and live foods including live baby brine and forzen daphnia, baby brine and cyclops. We also feed Northfin flake foods.
