Siamese Algae Eater | Crossocheilus Oblongus

Rendering loop-subscriptions

The Siamese Algae Eater or Crossocheilus oblongus is a unique fish to add to your aquarium due to its very active habits and unmatched love of various aquarium algae, including but not limited to black beard algae. It is recommended that these fish be kept in a group of at least 5 to 6, when adult size to spread out aggression.

These fish are a great beginner fish due to its acceptance of a wide variety of water parameters and ability to handle lower temperatures. It is not uncommon for these fish to jump so a tank with a lid is highly recommended.

Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.

The Siamese Algae Eater can reach a max size of 7 inches and is a great community fish in a well established tank with peaceful fish. And is plant safe. It should be kept in slightly larger tanks size of 40 gallons or more.

The Siamese Algae Eater consumes many natural food sources but will accept prepared foods with lots of vegetable matter such as kelp wafers. It is good practice to provide fresh cut vegetables such as cucumber and zucchini.

Healthy & Nice Size

Very happy, I now have 8 total, they like to shoal and are always working on eating algae. I'm glad I bought them and they are nice quality.

All alive and doing well

Love these hardy algae eaters! Fun to watch and they work hard. All are doing very well in my heavily planted tank.
