The Flame tetra is one of the most colorful tetra species displaying bright orange/yellow. This fish is a great beginner tetra due to its wide adaptability of water parameters. Originally found in South America the species was very popular in the aquarium hobby only to become almost rare. This fish has rebounded in popularity and has become a staple in many aquariums.

The Flame Tetra can reach sizes of about 2 inches. They are pretty peaceful and can be housed with a variety of community fish. Although, we would not recommend keeping them with shrimp. They prefer small live foods so baby shrimp would become an easy target.
The scientific name for the Orange Von Rio Tetra is: Hyphessobrycon flammeus
We feed our Flame Tetras a mix of frozen and live foods including live baby brine and frozen daphnia, baby brine and cyclops. We also feed Northfin flake foods.

I am no stranger when it comes to Flip Aquatics and cant say enough good things about them. The fish arrived quickly and in perfect health. I ordered 15 and got a few extra to cover any loss and of corse there wasn't any. After acclimation and introduction to the tank they colored up immediately and soon after they were off exploring their new home.
Amazing pop of color to add to your aquarium. Make sure to get at least 6 but the more the better with these fish.
As a first time customer, I guess I didn’t understand how to order. I have ordered from other companies but not had this issue. I wrote to this company about the error and received no response. I ordered what I thought was 3 tetras. I received 15. Nice fish but many more than I expected. Came well packed. All alive and Still alive!!!
This is my second order from Flip Aquatics, I absolutely love how they handle their livestock and the actual quality of the livestock. I ordered 20 von Rio tetras from them. They are doing wonderful and are schooling very well. There's signs of agression from them though, between them and my Cory cats which j find very strange.
But they have grown quite a bit since I got them and during feeding time these guys are like mini piranhas and I absolutely love em. I will definitely order from them again and would love it if they had more fish selection as well.
