Introducing the captivating and mesmerizing Bleeding Blue Tetra - a true jewel of the aquatic world! With its stunning appearance and unique characteristics, this charming fish will undoubtedly add a splash of elegance to any freshwater aquarium.
The Bleeding Blue Tetra (scientifically known as Hyphessobrycon Margitae) boasts a vibrant and iridescent blue hue, adorned with striking red patches on its fins, truly resembling a living work of art. Its eye-catching coloration is further enhanced by the shimmering effect created by the light dancing on its scales, captivating both seasoned aquarists and newcomers alike.
This small-sized tetra is native to the pristine waters of South America, where it thrives in peaceful and well-maintained environments. Its calm and non-aggressive temperament makes it an excellent choice for community tanks, where it can coexist harmoniously with other compatible fish species.
Beyond its captivating appearance, the Bleeding Blue Tetra is cherished for its ease of care. It adapts well to a variety of water conditions, making it an ideal choice for aquarium enthusiasts of all skill levels. To ensure the best possible care for these delightful creatures, we recommend maintaining a well-balanced tank with proper filtration, regular water changes, and a suitable diet.
Feeding the Bleeding Blue Tetra is a delight in itself, as these fish are omnivorous and relish a diverse diet. Providing them with high-quality flake food, supplemented with occasional live or frozen treats such as brine shrimp and daphnia, will keep them healthy, vibrant, and active.

To replicate their natural habitat, the use of rock work, plants, and driftwood should be included in the aquarium. They also enjoy tannins in their water, so the use of Indian Almond or Guava leaves is highly recommended. We would not recommend keeping this fish with shrimp colonies due to the likeliness of the bleeding blue tetra eating baby shrimp and potentially picking at adult shrimp.
They are omnivores by nature. We feed our Bleeding Blue Tetras a mix of frozen foods including daphnia, baby brine, cyclops, and bloodworms with the occassional mix of Northfin foods.
