Live Dwarf Red Honey Gourami Fish

The Dwarf Red Honey Gourami, Trichogaster (Colisa) chuna, is a unique fish falling into a category called (Labyrinth Fish), meaning they need to access the waters surface to breath. This absolutely stunning fish is a great addition to any fish tank due to their unique orange/reddish color. Male and females in this species appear with the same coloration with males showing more red during spawning.

The Red Honey Gourami is a peaceful fish getting along with a large variety of tankmates. During spawning the males will create a bubble nest and court the female, during this process eggs will get distributed into the bubbles, males can become aggressive when guarding this area and the females may need moved.

Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.

The Red Honey Gourami can reach a max length of around 2 inches. They are accustom to shallow water with lots of vegetation. They prefer a planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots.

We feed our fish a mix of frozen, live and prepared foods including daphnia, baby brine and cyclops. We also supplement their diet with a mix of Northfin Veggie and Community.

Both fish arrived in Great condition and regained their color a few days after being introduced into the tank and had no problem with the other tank mates.

Good choice!

I have a Fluval Flex 15, with Cardinals, Embers, Pygmy Cory's, Otocinclus and a Guppy, well-planted black Fluval substrate. It's beautiful and my Honey Gourami makes a great center piece fish. He came in great shape, acclimated quickly and started actively feeding right away. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Thanks Flip!
