Snow Amano Shrimp

If you love regular Amano Shrimp, you're going to LOVE Snow Amano Shrimp! These guys have everything we love about Amano Shrimp, but with a really cool twist as snow amanos have a beautiful white color.

Just like regular Amano Shrimp, these little guys are peaceful, active, and great at helping control algae in freshwater aquariums. You'll often find them climbing through plants, picking at driftwood, and grazing around the tank looking for their next snack.

Snow Amano Shrimp are a great addition to planted aquariums and peaceful community tanks. If you're looking for a natural algae cleanup crew but want something a little different from your typical Amano Shrimp, these white Amano Shrimp are definitely worth checking out!

One thing to keep in mind is that Amano Shrimp cannot complete their breeding cycle in freshwater. While females may carry eggs, their larvae require saltwater conditions to develop, so you don't have to worry about them taking over your freshwater aquarium.

What We Feed Amano Shrimp

Snow Amano Shrimp are excellent grazers and will spend much of their time picking at algae, biofilm, and leftover food throughout the aquarium. But just like any other shrimp, they still need to be fed a proper diet!

We recommend supplementing their natural grazing with quality shrimp foods, algae wafers, and vegetable-based foods. NorthFin Kelp Wafers and our Shrimp Envy foods are great options for providing additional nutrition.
