Introducing the Serpae Tetra Veiltail: A Fiery Beauty for Your Aquarium
Experience the captivating allure of the Serpae Tetra Veiltail, also known as Hyphessobrycon Serpae var Veiltail. These flame-colored tropical fish have become a sensation among aquarists, thanks to their extraordinary markings, feathery fins, and vibrant body color. Renowned as Blood Tetras due to their stunning orange and red scales, these Tetras possess a distinctive black comma-shaped mark on their side, accompanied by a striking long black and white dorsal fin.
Characteristics: Undeniably attractive, the Tetra Veiltail is a stunning addition to any community aquarium, displaying a generally peaceful demeanor. These natural schooling fish thrive in groups, showcasing their vibrant colors and graceful movements. However, it's essential to consider their tankmates' fin length, as Serpae Tetras can exhibit mild aggression and occasionally nip at those with longer fins.
Ideal for Intermediate and Advanced Aquarists: Suitable for both intermediate and advanced aquarists, the Serpae Tetra Veiltail is relatively easy to care for. These flame-like fish require attention to water changes and are not recommended for inexperienced owners or new tanks. With proper care and maintenance, they can live up to 8 years, making them wonderful long-term companions and guaranteed to make a striking statement in your tank.
Optimal Aquarium Conditions: Originating from the still and slow-moving bodies of water in Brazil and Paraguay, Serpae Tetra Veiltails thrive in aquariums adorned with lush vegetation, providing an abundance of hiding spots, caves, and rocks. To mimic their natural habitat, we recommend incorporating moss or Myriophyllum, offering soft shelter and diffusing light. Additionally, a dark substrate enhances their vibrant colors. These Tetras can grow up to 4.5 inches, necessitating ample swimming space in your aquarium.
Feeding Recommendations: As naturally omnivorous creatures, Tetras predominantly feed on small invertebrates, crustaceans, algae, and fruit. To ensure a balanced and nutritious diet, we provide a mix of live foods such as baby brine shrimp, blackworms, bloodworms, and Daphnia. Supplementing their diet with Northfin Veggie, Community, and Bug Pro guarantees their optimal health and vitality.
Live Arrival Guarantee: Please note that when shipping with FedEx Overnight (1 Day) option, we offer a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee for all fish shipments. However, choosing any other shipping option will void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.
Indulge in the mesmerizing beauty of the Serpae Tetra Veiltail and transform your aquarium into a vibrant oasis. With their fiery colors, distinctive markings, and graceful presence, these Tetras are bound to captivate both seasoned and passionate aquarists alike.
All fish doing well. Nice color. Really good schoolers. Travel in group most of the time.
Love my fish. All were good!
The fish arrived healthy and were actually mature fish, not like I've received from other places. They send out babies and call them fish!
Everything in my order arrived alive but the serpae tetra all looked a bit ragged. All of their fins and tails looked like they were missing pieces, maybe they got a little beat up in transit. They all seem to be doing well now though. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the gold dojo loach in the order. It looked healthy upon arrival but didn't make it 24 hours in my tank. I checked all the tank parameters and don't really know what happened to it.
