Rotala rotundifolia Red is an easy to keep stem plant similar to Rotala indica. To achieve the red coloration, the addition of iron and a plant fertilizer is recommended. This is a fast growing plant so frequent trimming is recommended. Like all stem plants, you can replant the trimming to start new plants. Rotala rotundifolia Red originates from from Southeast Asia. The plant is best used as in mid or background placement.
Keep in mind that the coloration, size, and shape of this plant are subject to the conditions the plants are kept. The leaves on Rotala species can be fragile and it is recommended they are handled with care.
Use of a high quality planted tank substrate like Brightwell shrimp soil and CO2 injection can help yield better growth.
