Marsilea quadrifolia has several names including Clover water fern or water shamrock. The plant grows with two pairs of leaflets that have an appearance of a four leaf clover. this plant can grow in a wide variety of conditions and substrates. Given the proper parameters this plant can form a thick carpet via runners. 

This species of plant thrives best using a nutrient rich soil with additional fertilization (our personal preference of Brightwell line soils can be found by clicking here). If not provided enough nutrients it can decrease the ability of this plant to spread. Inclusion of CO2 in the aquarium will increase the plants ability to grow.

*Rapid changes in tank parameters can result in the melting of the plant.

Note: Please do additional research on your plant to ensure its health. Propagation of this plant is achieved by cutting horizontal runners and moving them to a new place or allow them to travel naturally beneath the substrate.

Disappointed

Most of the plants are dead. The photos on the website made it look like the plants were much larger than they actually are. I put them in my aquarium with aquarium soil and even added liquid fertilizer and just a few strands are holding on. It was a huge mistake purchasing this plant.

Very pleased!

This was a really good quantity of clean immersed growth, with no dead/dying bits. I fully expected to receive emmersed growth leaves that were going to melt as soon as I put it into my tank, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a plant where that pain was eliminated. Pros. :)

Beautiful four-leaf clover plant

Was very impressed with the quantity of four-leaf clover plants that I got from one order. They came in extremely green and have started to multiply in just one week. This plant can be cut into several pieces and planted shallowly in the substrate and it will carpet your tank in time. Definitely recommend this plant as a good carpeting plant for a shrimp tank!

Wicked Awesome!

I ordered 8 of the deep blue bolts and they sent 10! They are incredible! I can’t get over their color. They were super active right out of the box. They are zooming around eating everything and being splendid. This was my second order from Flip. The first order was for crystal reds. They were awesome too. Flip has really upped its packing game though. The package was impressive and the heat pack was still warm!
