What a great piece - this is a new wood for my tanks, but I trusted when they said it would be great for my shrimp. Just as mentioned in the description: got a big layer of biofilm ... but the snails/shrimp have been chowing on it for a few days now. It’ll be clean soon, and looking great.
Thanks Flip Aquatics - everything I got from you for this new tank looks amazing (and the livestock is all healthy and happy)!
I did get a smaller piece(5-6in) but I was able to boil it and the trick to get it to sink the first time is to let it cool down completely in the water so it hold the water in better since hot water evaporates faster, allowing it to cool in the water allows for maximum water retention. My pleco loves it and I was able to saw off a nub for my 5 gallon betta tank.
My shipment arrived today! I brought the box inside to a cooler dimmer area to unpack. I am so pleased that there were NO deaths. My new white clouds, mystery snail and shrimp are resting so they can adjust a little to not being jostled in traveling. Later today they'll get to enjoy a summer tub pond. I'm excited to see them adjust and interact in as natural a setting as possible. The grapevine wood is about 8" long and perfect to add in with the other driftwood I already have. All I need to do is boil it so that it will sink. Thank you to Mike M. at Flip Aquatics!
The wood is perfect it has great places for my shrimp too hide and provides lots of food as well!
Very nice! Loved it not too big or too small and the shrimp love it too!
