All this really means is how ever many emmersed leaves are left will probably melt after a few weeks in your tank. but with the new submerged growth the plant should be fine.

The color and shape/texture of the leaves are quite unique and really stand out. Mine arrived healthy and started sprouting new leaves almost immediately.
