You will receive black Taiwan bees from our Black King Kong and Panda mixed tank. For every order of five shrimp, you will receive one to two black King Kong shrimp. We sell all Taiwan Bee shrimp at about half an inch. The smaller they are, the easier to acclimate them to a new aquarium.
Our Black King Kong shrimp may come as the shadow variety. This means instead of being black and white, they will contain blue shadowing in their white coloration.
Black King Kong shrimp and Panda shrimp are black Taiwan bees. They are from the genus Caridina and tend to be more difficult to keep compared to cherry shrimp or others. Taiwan Bees were considered some of the hardest to keep and breed freshwater shrimp in the past. Between 2009 and 2014, hobbyists were able to stabilize the Taiwan bee shrimp line to have more stability. By adding new genetic pools, the Taiwan bee shrimp is much easier to keep and breed in current days. For a hobbyist ready to take their hobby to the next level, these pet shrimp are a great place to start.
Mixing Taiwan Bees
It is great to be aware of the fact that all Taiwan Bee shrimp can be kept in the same tank without out risk of hybridizing. All Taiwan Bee shrimp share similar genetic lines so they will produce shrimp that look similar to the parents. Red King Kongs, Red Pandas, Black King King Kongs, Black Pandas, and Blue Bolts can all be kept in the same aquarium.
