I recieved the 5 I ordered and an extra. The Male to female ratio is a little off but I'm sure they'll be happy regardless.
Hi Jeff, i received my cherry barbs in good health and lively. I have no complaints nd am verry happy with my purchase. Thanks once more.
I just received my first order from Flip Aquatics yesterday and it contained a 5 pack of these wonderful fish. There was an extra one in the bag in case one of them didn't make it but they all did! So now I have 3 bright red males and 3 nice, fat females. They had been in the mail for nearly 2 days so I wanted to get them out of the bag and into the tank ASAP. I did a quick temp acclimation and netted them out into my 46 gallon bowfront. I've never seen fish take to their new environment so quickly! As soon as they wondered out of the net they began chasing each other around and checking things out. Within the hour there were gobbling down some mosquito larvae I collected a few days earlier in preparation for their arrival. They are EXTREMELY active and there hasn't been a dull moment since they hit the water. They constantly "play" nip at each other and there is often a marry chase involving all 6 of them around the tank. There are two males that do seem to take their pecking order a little more seriously than the others. I just got done watching them circle each other with fins flared before they launch into a brief tumble. They do give the cherry shrimp that was in the same order a little chase every now and again but it's very short lived and the shrimp don't seem too bothered by it as they are still out in the open and not hiding. Overall, I'm so pleased with the vitality of these Cherry Barbs that in about a week's time I'll be ordering another 5 to give their little group more numbers. Flip Aquatic's passion for these animals shows by how healthy they are. I've bought fish from the LFS and Wal-Mart and they only spent 15 minutes in a bag but when they get released into the tank they sink to the bottom or hide looking very ill. I've never ordered anything but plants and snails through the mail and I guess I'm just shocked they could go through that experience and come out so well! Thank guys!!!
