Celebes Rainbow Fish

The Celebes Rainbowfish is one of the most beautiful fish that seriously gets prettier the longer you keep it! Native to the freshwater streams of Sulawesi, Indonesia, this smaller rainbowfish has a sleek body with pops of yellow, blue, and shimmer through the fins. Males are especially stunning because, as they mature, they show off longer, fan-like fins and brighter colors when they’re displaying to each other. They do best in groups of 6 or more and really shine in a planted tank with plenty of cover, especially floating plants!

Celebes Rainbowfish are peaceful, active, and a great fit for community aquariums with other calm fish around the same size. They can usually be kept with larger peaceful inverts, but tiny baby shrimp may still be seen as a snack. For the best color, keep them in a spacious planted setup with darker substrate and feed a mix of quality flake, frozen, or live foods. They are fully freshwater fish, despite some old information saying they need brackish water, and they tend to do best in stable water that isn’t too soft!

Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with the Overnight (1 Day) option. All other shipping options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.
