Buce Theia

Bucephalandra Theia is a beautiful, beginner-friendly Buce that stands out with its broad leaves and cool iridescent shimmer! Depending on your aquarium's lighting and water conditions, the foliage can range from deep olive green to rich reddish-brown, with the blue sheen becoming especially noticeable under quality LED lighting. Its slow growth and compact size make it an excellent choice for adding color and texture to the foreground or midground of planted aquariums.

Bucephalandra Theia is an epiphytic plant and should be attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape rather than planted directly into the substrate. Burying the rhizome can cause it to rot, so it's important to keep the rhizome exposed while allowing the roots to naturally anchor themselves. Over time, it will slowly spread along the rhizome and develop new leaves.

One of the reasons Buce Theia is so popular is its ability to thrive in lower light and shaded areas where many other aquarium plants struggle. It doesn't require CO2 to grow, but added CO2 and regular fertilization will encourage faster growth, improved coloration, and a healthier plant overall! Like many Bucephalandra varieties, it's normal to experience a small amount of leaf melt after introducing it to a new aquarium as it adjusts to its new environment.

Bucephalandra Theia is a hardy freshwater aquarium plant that rewards patience with beautiful growth and unique coloration. Whether you're creating a nature-style aquascape or simply looking for an easy, colorful accent plant, this Buce is an excellent choice.
