- Nano Fish
Black Neon Tetras are the gentle giants of the nano fish world. Their body shape is bigger than that of the Neon Tetra and Green Neon Tetra yet they are very peaceful fish. It is rare for us to see them show aggressive behavior in our tanks.
Like most tetras, Black Neon Tetras are found in South America and prefer black water setups. Them ore leaves, wood and cones provided, the more at home these fish will feel. These fish get to a max size of just under 2 inches.
The scientific name for the Black Neon Tetra is Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrod.
We feed our Black Neon Tetras a mix of Northfin Community and Veggie. They also get an occasional treat of frozen foods such as daphnia, cyclopods and baby brine shrimp.
Our Tank Parameters
Looks like a young one (less than an inch) which is great because I am happy to see this one grow up. Arrived alive and spunky still. Ate immediately upon placement in a quarantine tank which is a great sign!
Arrived all well, happy and healthy.
All fish were delivered quickly and are looking very healthy!
They are larger than a neon tetra, and seen to be more hardy. Arrived very healthy and active. They may have less color than some others, but they are very pretty with that large black stripe, accented with the white neon stripe, and the red eyes!
The black neons look great and are doing great!!! TY!!!!!
