The Black Neon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi) is a calm and easy-to-care-for fish. It’s a little bigger than a regular Neon Tetra and does well in small or community tanks.
Black Neon Tetras come from South America. In the wild, they live in dark water with lots of leaves, wood, and cones. You can make them feel at home by adding things like Indian Almond Leaves, guava leaves, driftwood, and alder cones to your tank. These natural items help keep the water soft and healthy for them. They grow to about 1.5 to 2 inches long.
These fish are peaceful and like to swim in groups. They usually do not fight with other fish. They sometimes do well with shrimp but do best in community setups with other small schooling fish.
We feed our Black Neon Tetras a mix of Northfin Community and Veggie pellets. We also give them frozen foods like baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and cyclops to help them stay strong and healthy.
We offer a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee on all our fish. Shop online with confidence and peace of mind that our livestock will be delivered right to your door alive and healthy.
