Black Carved Lava Rock - Medium

Lava rock in general is one of the best rocks to use in a shrimp tank. Lava rock is extremely porous which provides tons of surface area to grow biofilm and beneficial bacteria. Lava rock  will create natural feeding grounds for shrimp and especially baby shrimp.

Black carved lava rock is ideal for an aquarium because it adds character. The holes add depth to the aquarium and provide natural decoration to include in any aquascape.

Our medium black carved lava rock is around 2 and a 1/2 - 4 inches per piece. These are great pieces for a shrimp tank.

Key Benefits

  • Will not increase Ph
  • Provide natural feeding ground for shrimp and other algae eaters
  • Provides hiding places for baby shrimp
  • Beautiful texture for aquascaping

For best results we recommend rinsing rocks before addition to an aquarium. Although all pieces are cleaned, it is natural for rock to create additional dust during shipping.

You will receive one (1) hand selected piece of carved lava rock. Each piece is inspected and packaged with care to help protect the character of each rock.

*Each piece is different. The stones you receive will not be identical to the product pictures although are accurate examples of what you will receive.*

Setting up and cycling a 10 gallon aquarium and a 55 gallon at the same time The carved lava will be great shrimp hide outs along with the dragon stone and plants! I'm excited! Can't wait to order my first shrimp from Flip Aquatics!

Perfect fit!

The rock fit it perfectly for my planted invertebrate tank! My mystery snails don't seem to care much about it but my amano shrimp are constantly in and out of it and it blends in perfectly with a dark substrate

Great rock, terrible bar code placement

The rock itself is really nice. It has a flat surface that is ideal for letting it sit on the substrate, and shrimp seem to eat off of it on occasion. But whoever put the bar code label on the rock didn't give it a single thought. The bar code should have been glued to the flat surface so its glue is out of view, as I could not get all of the glue off. I had to make a choice as to whether to have to have the nice, flat surface not be the bottom of the rock in order to hide the glue, or leave the glue visible. Such little effort could have prevented this dilemma, but I doubt it's Flip Aquatic's fault they likely just resell the rock.

Hey Craig,
Thank you so much for your order and review. We're really sorry that this was an inconvenience for you. We ourselves do not put the stickers on their. We can reach out to our supplier and let them know. Hope you have a great day.
