The Black Venezuela Cory (Corydoras schultzei) is a peaceful, small catfish with a dark body and gentle nature. Though it’s often called the Black Venezuela Cory, it isn’t related to the orange Venezuelan Cory. Instead, the black cory comes from a special German breeding line with its own unique history. These corys like to live in groups and sift through soft sand for leftover food. They stay under two inches long, prefer calm water, and get along well with other peaceful fish, making them a perfect fit for a community aquarium.
We feed our Corys a large variety of foods which include finely ground Northfin flake foods, small Northfin pellets (veggie, community, & bug pro), frozen foods, and occasionally blackworms.
The scientific name for the Black Cory is Corydoras schultzei.
