The Black Banded Leporinus has elongated, dart-like bodies with alternating black bands over a pale yellow/whitish body, making it really stand out in aquariums!
Black Banded Leporinus are omnivores. In the wild, they feed on plants, fruits, and algae, but they will also accept animal protein. In aquariums, they do well on a varied diet of Nano bits, live Daphnia, and occasional bloodworms. A mixed diet helps keep them healthy and reduces the risk of deficiencies.
We feed ours a mix of frozen foods including daphnia, baby brine and cyclops. We occasionally feed them Northfin Veggie. Will accept live foods if prepared.
