The Black Lyretail Molly is a peaceful livebearer that grows to about 4-5 inches long. They have solid black bodies with lyre shaped tail fins that give them their name. Some show a yellow/orange hue in their fins, which stands out against the dark body, we've be saying it looks similar to how lava looks as it dries out! They’re hardy fish that adapt well to different aquariums and get along with most other peaceful fish.
Like all mollies, the Black Lyretail gives birth to live fryinstead of laying eggs. They’re best kept in groups with more females than males to reduce stress and keep the group calm. Easy to care for and full of activity, they make a great choice for hobbyists who want a hardy livebearer with unique color and personality.
