Endler's Livebearer | Poecilia wingei

Rendering loop-subscriptions

Endler's Livebearers (Poecilia wingei) are one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish due to their brilliant colors and peaceful community nature. Males exhibit a kaleidoscope of colors including green, blue, red, yellow, and black in various patterns across their bodies and flowing fins. Females are less flamboyant but still attractive with yellowish-green coloration. Both sexes only reach around 1 inch in length when mature, making them perfect for nano aquariums.

Endler's are extremely prolific livebearers and breed readily in the aquarium with little intervention required. This makes them a great choice for those looking to breed their own fish and experience the miracle of live birth. They are peaceful community fish that do best when kept in schools of 6 or more. Provide them with a well-planted aquarium of at least 10 gallons. With proper care, Endler's Livebearers can live 2-3 years, bringing a constant burst of color to any community tank.

    New Experience

    Good Morning:

Having owned an independent aquarium shop for a decade a quarter century ago, we are not exactly unschooled in the trade. That said, things have obviously changed. Shrimp were unheard of in those days and filtration and water treatment was in its infancy. At the time we sold more plants than any shop in new England though chain stores were yet to come.

So, with this in mind, we had apprehension about starting up again, even as hobbyists and especially in SW Florida. Having always bought wholesale, picking up our stock in bulk, we were anxious about buying on line, but our son recommended you very strongly. We were not disappointed! The fish and shrimp arrived in good condition and appear to have acclimated well. KUDOS!
