The Tiger Teddy (Neoheterandria elegans) has tiger-like stripes and a very compact size. This species captivates with its unique appearance and lively demeanor. Native to the rivers of Central America, the Tiger Teddy is well-suited for nano aquariums and community tanks, where it thrives in groups and interacts peacefully with other small, gentle species. Its small size and vibrant patterns make it an ideal choice for aquarists looking to add a touch of exotic flair to their setup.
Beyond its visual appeal, the Tiger Teddy is a livebearer, dropping a few fry everyday over several days. Despite its delicate appearance, this fish is surprisingly hardy, adapting well to a variety of water conditions. It also contributes to the overall balance of your aquarium by grazing on small algae and detritus.
We feed our fish a mix of frozen, live, and prepared foods including live baby brine and black worms. We also supplement their diet with a mix of Northfin Veggie, Community, and Bug Pro.
All the little guys and gals arrived in good condition and acclimated well. I have 2 males and 5 females. The social interactions are very interesting.
