Banana stems make a great addition to any shrimp tank and to any black water aquarium where they can be used as litter on the bottom of the tank. Banana stems will usually last 2-3 months. They can be removed or left in the aquarium until there is nothing left of them. Banana stems will grow biofilm which is a great food source for shrimp and other algae eaters. 

1 oz and 4 oz portion sizes are available.

Each ouch will contain about 10 banana stems.

    They Love It!

    They love it! As soon as I put a banana stem into the tank they swarmed it. To ensure the stem would sink I boiled it for 10 mins and let it cool for several hours. I will be buying these again!

    It only took my mystery and ramshorn snails a few minutes to discover the banana stems when I first added them to the tank! The stems float for a while before sinking, but that didn't stop the snails. I have seen my rosy loach fry nibbling on the biofilm that formed on the stems, too, so this will definitely be a repeat purchase!
