The Gold Ring Danio is a great addition to any hobbyists aquarium, planted or unplanted. The Gold Ring Danio has great color contrast displaying gold/tan coloration with black spots on its sides. They show schooling behavior in small groups yet this behavior is very evident in larger groups of 10 or more.
The Gold Ring Danio's Scientific name is Brachydanio tinwini.
The Gold Ring Danio can reach a size of 1.5 inches and is a great community and beginner fish. They are will do well in small tanks from 10 gallons and up. The reason they are a great beginner fish is do to their adaptability to a large range of water parameters and willingness to accept a wide variety of foods. We would not recommend keeping them with shrimp if trying to grow your colony as they can prey on baby shrimp.
We feed our Gold Ring Danio's a mix of frozen foods, live foods including daphnia, baby brine and cyclops and occasionally feed them Northfin Veggie, Community and Bug Pro.
