Yellow King Kong

Yellow King Kong Caridina shrimp are stunning dwarf shrimp. They are a mutation from mixing Taiwan Bee shrimp with Tiger shrimp. It is believed that they originated from a Tangerine Tiger and a Blue Bolt or Black King Kong. The Yellow King Kong does breed true or at least in our experience it has.

These shrimp prefer soft acidic water with a buffering substrate that alters the pH to be below 7. Providing natural cover and surface area for biofilm to grow with woods, leaves, and cones will be beneficial to the Yellow King Kong shrimp and their offspring. They will eat any shrimp-specific manufactured food, biofilm, and algae.

We keep our Yellow King Kong in a tank with a Matten Filter, Brightwell Rio Escuro F soil, and cholla woods and mosses. We feed these Glasgarten foods.

Little drops of sunshine

Shrimp arrived on time, packaged with care, and alive! These cuties are doing very well and one is such a good size! Definitely have me hooked on shrimp now! If you’re thinking about it, do it. Flip Aquatics is the way to go.

They were what was missing

I setup my planted tank in June and added added Neon Tetras and Leopard Danios to it. I liked the result but wasn't satisfied until I added some Yellow King Kongs. Now every time I pass by my tank I stop and watch those bright yellow beauties happily picking away at the dark substrate. Thank you Michael B for packaging all 5 +1 so well. I was nervous about ordering shrimp online but I won't hesitate to order again from Flip when the time itch comes to add more.
