The Red Lyretail Molly is a livebearer that has bright orangish/red bodies paired with the signature long, flowing lyretail. They grow to about 2.5-4 inches long. As with most mollies, they're usually quite peaceful and get along well with other community fish. The Red Lyretail molly prefers harder water and will benefit from added aquarium salt.
Red Lyretails are a livebearer which means they give birth to live fryinstead of laying eggs. This makes them easy to breed as long as they are kept in groups of four or more, with a ratio of three females to every male.
We feed our fish a mix of frozen, live, and prepared foods including daphnia, baby brine and cyclops. We also supplement their diet with a mix of Northfin Veggie and Community.
