Product Description

Spider wood is a very unique type of wood used in the aquarium hobby. The wood has lots of extensions giving it a tree like appearance. Spider wood is often a popular choice when aquascaping aquariums do to the amount of plants that can be attached to the branches.

Spider wood is different than most driftwood in the fact that it has been dried out to be lightweight for shipping purposes. This means that it will not sink immediately and will need weighted down for about a week until it is fully saturated again. The amount of tannins released by spider wood is much less than Mopani and Malaysian driftwood which is appealing in some cases. Once your spider wood has been submerged there is a potential for a white film to develop. The film is not harmful and will be eaten by some fish, all shrimp, and snails.

It is important to note that some types of plecos will eat the spider wood because it is soft compared to other driftwood types.

You will be receiving one (1) piece of Spider wood or a pack of three (3) pieces of spider wood. Each pieces will be between 8 to 16 inches in length. All pieces of spider wood are unique in shape and size. We only send pieces that we would happily put in our own aquariums. These are some spectacular pieces of wood!

Great product, fast shipping.

Its just what I ordered, got here in about 4 days, well packaged and labeled fragile. It floats but nothing boiling water didn't fix. My fish are warming up to it nicely.

The Perfect Piece

The piece that I received was absolutely perfect. I was a bit worried at first that I would get an unappealing piece of spiderwood from other reviews, so I made a note when ordering it to specify that I wanted a piece that would go well in my 10 gallon. When I received it I was so relieved that it looked great! The only problem I had was trying to tie it down since it isn’t waterlogged, so I had to use rubber bands and a bunch of pebbles to keep it down which was quite frustrating. (Of course this is not Flip Aquatics fault and they even said this in the description!) I’m totally satisfied.. thank you Flip Aquatics!!

Spiderwood

100 % satisfied with my purchase. I filled out the comment section, detailing a bit of the tank set up I have and what I was looking for. The spider wood was shipped in a timely fashion and arrived safely in one piece. I boiled for about an hour, changing the water 3x and had to burry it in my substrate and anchored it down with some smaller rocks, it’s been about 2 weeks and my water has not been stained with tannins and the wood sits freely now without any anchorage. I would highly recommend and I know I will be back for more
