The Gold Ring Danio

Gold Ring Danios are small, active freshwater fish with an awesome pattern that really starts to stand out once you get a group together! Their gold to tan bodies are covered in dark spots, giving theGold Ring Danio a completely different look from the striped danios most people are used to seeing. They're peaceful, hardy, and always on the move, making them a great addition to community tanks!

Also known as theGold Ring Tinwini Danio, these fish stay small, reaching around 1.5 inches as adults. While you can see some schooling behavior in smaller groups, we really recommend keepingGold Ring Danios in groups of 10 or more. A larger school helps them feel more comfortable and lets you see much more of their natural behavior!

Gold Ring Danios are also a great option for beginner fish keepers because they're hardy, adaptable, and aren't picky when it comes to food. We feed ours a varied diet of live and frozen foods, including daphnia, baby brine shrimp, and cyclops, along with NorthFin Community, Veggie, and Bug Pro.

We wouldn't recommend Gold Ring Danios for a shrimp tank if your goal is to grow your colony. Like most small fish, they'll take advantage of the opportunity to snack on tiny baby shrimp.
