The Rust Cory Catfish (Corydoras rabauti) is a small, peaceful scavenger from the Amazon basin. It is found in parts of Brazil, Peru, and possibly Colombia. Adults reach about 2 to 2.5 inches. As they mature, they show a mix of colors: rusty orange, soft violet, and a hint of metallic green. Similar to other Corydoras species, Rabauti Cories spend most of their time on the bottom, calmly searching for leftover food.
Rabauti Corydoras prefer to be kept in groups of six or more, this could include other cory species if in a community aquarium. They’re great for community tanks and usually do fine with freshwater shrimp, though they may eat tiny shrimp fry. Use soft sand or smooth gravel to protect their barbels and belly.
