The Dojo Loach, often referred to as the Weather Loach, because people say they can predict the weather. When the air pressure around them changes, like before a storm or even on a sunny day, then they start wiggling and swimming more. This happens because their bodies can sense even the tiniest shifts in the water as the air pressure rises or falls. It’s almost like they’re telling you, “Rain is coming” or “The sky will clear up soon”
These loaches can grow as long up to about ten inches, so they need a long tank with soft sand or fine gravel to dig and explore. They accept a wide range of water temps between 59-77F. Dojo Loaches are peaceful and enjoy being in small groups, where you can watch them burrow together and play in the sand.
We care for every Dojo Loach in our tanks for at least 14+ days before shipping. When it’s time to ship them to you, we bag each fish in a breather bag to prevent sloshing, tuck them into boxes lined with eco‑foam, and ship it overnight.
Every order comes with our 100% live arrival guarantee. If your Dojo Loach doesn’t arrive healthy and active, just let us know and we’ll make it right. We’re here to help you before, during, and after your purchase so both you and your new loaches can be happy.
Please Note: Dojo loaches are illegal to own and purchase in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and New York. We urge you to be responsible and refrain from releasing any aquatic life into local waterways.
