Introducing the Freshwater Pea Puffer - A Captivating Nano Fish for Your Aquarium!
Experience the unique allure of the Pea Puffer (Carinotetradon travancoricus), a truly rewarding addition to your home aquarium. Despite their small size, these fascinating creatures pack a punch with their striking patterns and coloration, immediately capturing attention. Sporting black patterns on a yellowish gold body, they create a captivating contrast against a variety of aquatic plants.
While the size of Pea Puffers may suggest the possibility of keeping them in groups in a small tank, it's important to note that they can exhibit aggression towards each other. To maintain harmony, ample plants or hiding places are recommended to mitigate aggression. Ideally, groups of 3 or fewer are suitable for a 10-gallon tank, but they can also be kept individually without any issues. It's generally advised to avoid placing them in a community setting due to the risk of fin-nipping, although some instances of successful cohabitation with Otocinclus catfish have been observed. However, we do not recommend keeping them with any type of shrimp.
The scientific name for the Pea Puffer is Carinotetradon travancoricus, reflecting its unique classification within the aquatic world.
To ensure their nutritional needs are met, we recommend feeding them a variety of live foods such as baby brine, daphnia, small shrimp, bloodworms, black worms, or scuds. Additionally, we feed our Pea Puffers frozen Bloodworms, which we thaw in tank water and dispense into their habitat using a turkey baster, creating the illusion of live prey. Occasionally, we enhance their diet with small Ramshorn, pond, and Malaysian Trumpet Snails.
For your peace of mind, please note that all our fish shipments come with a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when opting for our Overnight (1 Day) shipping option. Choosing any other shipping option voids our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.

Wonderful little fish
I bought 3 pea puffers from flip and they showed up happy and healthy. Flip even worked with me to get them delivered on a certain day to make sure I was home. They didn't eat for a day or so, but they were just getting used to their new home. Very pleased with the flip experience.
I ordered 5 pea puffers, 4 peacock gobies, and 4 emperor tetra from Flip. It was my first time ordering fish, but all arrived healthy and in great shape! It's been a couple of weeks now and all of them are thriving in their new tanks.
Received fish alive and well. I ordered them because I have a bad snail problem, and these guys started on them right away. Looking toward the day when I see more fish and less snails.
All arrived alive and in great shape. Thank you so much
