Duckweed

Duckweed is an extremely fast growing floating plant. It is great to use in aquarium to help prevent algae, provide shade for inhabitants, increase surface area and to reduce nitrates. Duckweed can also be use for shrimp food when blended into a paste and dried (add in spirulina powder to enrich it).

You will receive one (1) portion of duckweed. One portion is equivalent to a ping pong ball size. One portion is a good start for a 10 gallon aquarium.

Main Benefits:

  • Fast growing to absorb nitrates
  • Easy to grow
  • Increase surface area for shrimp to graze
  • Promotes oxygen rich water
  • Provides hiding places for shrimp and baby shrimp

*All Plants may contain snails or snail eggs. We keep them in all of our tanks for the benefits they provide.*

Nice plants

All plants I have ordered are fresh. All the fish have been alive and well. Will be buying more cherry shrimp in the future.

It’s duckweed

Duckweed is considered a pest like most snails in the hobby. But the ones who see it as a nuisance overlook the benefits of having a floating plant in their tank. They are great for soaking up excess nutrients in the water. Nutrients that would be feeding algae. The duckweed that came was in a little cup and was in good shape. Plenty enough for my 20 long tank. It’s doing a beautiful job soaking up extra nutrients and I like the look of it in the tank.
