The Cariniana Pod comes from the great Cariniana legalis trees in South America. Each pod is about 2-3 inches long and 1-1.5 inches wide, making a perfect little tunnel for shrimp, small fish, or tiny frogs. These pods are really tough and last a long time underwater.
When you drop a Cariniana Pod into your tank, it slowly grows a thin biofilm that tiny shrimp and fish love to graze on. It doesn’t rot away, so it keeps your tank looking natural for months. The hard shell gives creatures a safe hideout, just like they’d find in a jungle river.
