Neon Tetras

Neon Tetras are one of the most popular schooling fish in the aquarium hobby, and for good reason. Their bright blue and red colors add movement to a tank, especially in planted aquariums or setups with darker substrate!

Neon Tetras are peaceful, active fish that do best in groups. We recommend keeping neon tetras in a school of at least 5 or more, but the bigger the group, the better they usually look and feel. When kept together, they are more comfortable and show more natural schooling behavior.

When it comes to neon tetra care and tank requirements, they do best in a stable aquarium with clean water, peaceful tank mates, and plenty of places to feel secure. Plants, driftwood, leaf litter, and rock work can all help create a more natural setup for them.

Neon Tetras are generally great community fish, but we don't typically recommend keeping them with shrimp as they might eat baby shrimp and can sometimes bother smaller or more timid shrimp. They're better suited with other peaceful fish that enjoy similar water conditions.

Here at Flip, we feed our Neon Tetras a varied diet of frozen and prepared foods, including daphnia, baby brine, cyclops, bloodworms nd NorthFin foods. A mixed diet helps support their health, color, and activity!
