Red Racer Nerite snails or Vittina waigiensis are freshwater snails related to the mollusk family. They are from the East coast of Africa and are found in rivers and streams. Nerite snails are common in the aquarium hobby as they are excellent algae eaters. They will clean algae from glass, substrate, and décor. The second reason they are so popular in our hobby is due to the fact that they do not reproduce in freshwater. In the wild these snails return to brackish water to breed and the baby snails require brackish water for early stages of growth. Therefore, Nerite snails will not overpopulate in an aquarium.

The Red Racer was the only snail to survive the trip so they are really hearty and within an hour her was racing around the tank.
Got 1 red Racer Nerite Snail in my order. Not only was it pretty, it ate some serious algae off my spider wood....love this snail.
I absolutely love my red racer snails. I have been trying to purchase some for over a year. I purchased two red racer, nitrate snails, and they arrived healthy and beautiful. Acclimated them and put them in my tank and they got going right away eating up the algae.
After acclimating the snail and placing it in the tank, the little dude started crawling all around the front of the tank. I would have bought 2 more if I knew they are this small. I really like the patterns of this guy and fun to watch. I am very happy with this purchase. Thank you!
I’ve had multiple deliveries now from flip and as per usual the fish arrive overnight and in great shape. The packaging is done well and the fish are always healthy.
