Otocinclus Catfish

The Otocinclus Catfish, also known as an Oto, is simply one of the best algae eating fish in the hobby. Reaching a max size around 2 inches, this fish is the ideal algae eater for any shrimp or planted aquarium. We have used this fish ever since we started in the hobby.

Please Note: All fish shipments have a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee when shipping with Overnight (1 Day) option. All other options void our Live Arrival Guarantee for fish.

Combine the Otocinclus with other algae eaters like nerite snails and amano shrimp, you will have an unstoppable cleaning crew to keep any planted aquarium looking great! We highly recommend this fish.

The scientific name for Otocinclus Catfish is Otocinclus huaorani.

We feed our Otocinclus a mix of Northfin Veggie and Community. Their main food is Northfin Kelp Wafers.

It's been three weeks since my Otocinclus arrived and...

I honestly can't say enough good things about Flip Aquatics. My order of 6 Otocinclus cats arrived three weeks ago expertly packaged with obvious love and care. All were alive and healthy and I'm glad to report that continues to be the case! My tank is free of ugly algae and all the better for their addition to my community. Thanks so much Flip Aquatics, I'll be ordering from you again and again and...

Fish came alive and health

My new Otos are alive, active, and thriving. Very impressed with Flip’s shipping of livestock. The only downside is the cost of shipping to my state.
