Blue Ramshorn Snails

Blue Ramshorn snails are a unique color morph with an amazing shell coloration. They are easily cared for and prefer harder water. Ramshorn snails are a great addition to any aquarium. Not only can they display some stunning shell and body colors, Ramshorn snails serve many useful purposes for any aquarium. A major benefit of snails is that they clean the aquarium glass, plants, substrates and other tank décor of algae. Other benefits of keeping snails are listed below. While snails are great for most aquarium, they can also serve another very useful purpose: live food. Fish like pea puffers need a live food source and baby Ramshorn snails can be just that.

You will receive Blue Ramshorn snails ranging in size. Most snails will be the size of a marble in diameter or slightly smaller. If planning to order snails online, read below to see the best way to handle receiving snails in the mail.

Main Benefits:

  • Snails help keep a shrimp tank from re-cycling by providing an adequate bio-load
  • Eat left over food to prevent ammonia spikes
  • Hardy so they can adjust to most water parameters
  • Great live food source for pea puffers and predatory fish

When Receiving Snails:

  1. Place the snails in a corner of the tank and make a mental note where they were place
  2. Watch the snails over 7 days, if they do not move remove them from the aquarium
  3. Give the snails a smell and if they stink, then they are dead
  4. If they do not smell, add them back to the aquarium and give it another 3 days
  5. It is common for snails to burrow into the substrate and disappear from sight

Please note: During shipping, snails sometimes go into a hibernation-like state and may not become fully active for up to a week once acclimated to your aquarium.

Very cute blue ram

Arrived healthy and moving and eating right away, smaller than a dime when it arrived. I got a second ramshorn as a hitchhiker with my shrimp order and the two of them have been busy laying eggs. So you’ll probably need to do a bit of population control with them but I think they are very cute and great cleaners so still like to keep them overall. The blue is a great color.

Nice snails

They showed up alive and well. Were very active day one and have been active since.

Blue ramshorn snail

Flip was nice enough to send me a standard colored one as an incidental in my plant order, and I would normally exterminate them on sight. I didn't know what I had, but he was big and had managed to evade me for months. Out of respect, I moved him to my utility tank. He got a cracked shell in the endeavor, but I've had him for a year now. Way more personality than I would have thought, always going some where. And I can still see the crack from the day we met.
Anyway, I am no longer a snail killer. Set up a new 10, had to have a blue one. He looks good crawling over my grey river rocks. Had to pay for this one though :) Give one a home, you'll love em'.

Blue Ramshorn Snails

I ordered the Blue Ramshorn Snails over a month ago and they're still doing well! I would (and have ordered) from Flip Aquatics again! I was very pleased with the snails!
