I just dropped one Snow Pop pellet in for 6 brand new Blue Dream but haven't seen much activity yet.
Shrimp King 5 in 1
I ordered 20 Orange Sakura neocaridina and five Amano Shrimp. They’re at least 25 reasons Flip Aquatics will be my go-to for everything shrimp from now on. Definitely take the time to set up a drip system if you didn’t purchase one. You only have to set it up once and get it adjusted and you’ll be able to adjust it for all of the different fish and shrimp you buy from now on, although fish can usually accommodate a faster acclimation. Now I know I am not going to lose animals because I didn’t do it right.
So, the shrimp are all still alive they’re all happily grazing for bio film and algae all over the tank. But, 30 shrimp (I had a few from before) need to tuck into a real meal sometimes. I am very happy I ordered the Shrimp King 5-in-1 one package. I knew with this mini shrimp in the tank, there probably would not be enough for them to eat on a daily basis, but I had already found out that some of the so-called shrimp food you get at the pet store must be crap because the shrimp don’t touch it. I am alternating the Complete and the Protein formulas daily and offering the Mineral once a week, with the five leaf formula once a week also. And then for treats I give them Snow Pops. If you’re going to give them Snow Pops get your hand out of the way fast because they seem to love them and converge on that area within seconds. I have to believe this is quality food by the way the shrimp go for it and by the way it will stay in the petri dish so I don’t have a big mess on the substrate to try to figure out how to clean up. I am thrilled with the shrimp the Shrimp King 5 in 1 and the shrimp, and the service, and a beautiful shrimp. (You may be noticing a theme there.)
The shrimp I received are older juveniles, all with great color; I cannot wait for them to breed and have even more. You may be wondering why I have Amanos with the Sakura. If so, it’s because they seem to clean certain things better.
I almost forgot about the salty shrimp GH/KH+. It is so much easier than trying to get it right using separate products for the GH and the KH. Using equilibrium from Seachem, although I love the company’s products, Equilibrium gives you too much KH and very high pH, even starting with RO/DI. But, I DON’T recommend using the little spoon. I started out by taking a level spoonful of the included spoon and weighing it to see how close to 2g it was. Not very: 2.35g. You can see that can make quite a difference in the resulting solution’s TDS. If you’re in the US, you have to remember that 10 liters is NOT 2.5 gallons, it’s 2.64 gallons. So, the inexact measurements could cause unexpected results for GH/KH/pH—and many products give their directions in liters and grams. My advice: Buy a scale that reads accurate to at least one decimal point. I found mine on Amazon. (Every scale and product on that page seemed to think anyone looking for an accurate scale wanted to be Walter White,) Accuracy can make a big difference in your water parameters.
Got exactly what I ordered and it arrived as quick as I could ask.
Good way to try the different offerings from Shrimp King
